Does The Zeno Zit
Zapper Really Work?
The
Zeno Acne Clearing Device represents a radical departure from anything that’s
gone before in the world of acne treatments.
More frequently described as the Zip Zapper,
Zeno has had a lot of media coverage over the last year for 3 reasons;
-
Because of its cool, tech image.
-
Because it was the first device approved by the FDA for over-the-counter use
on acne (the Dermastyle light is the other).
-
Because it’s been
demonstrated in clinical trials to be 90% effective in bringing about
improvements to skin within 24 hours.
With a classy appearance which makes it look at bit
like your MP3 player,
the Zeno has a 16-bit microprocessor which delivers measured pulses of 119°F heat
(don't worry, it only feels a little bit like a hot compress) over an automatically timed 2.5 min treatment
period to “zap” lesions and blemishes by killing the bacteria causing the
inflammation.
Zeno has a biocompatible tip, which means
this gizmo is programmed to adapt not only to your individual skin type, but
also to the heat absorption characteristics of the location of your lesion. This
makes it both safe and effective. Each Zeno is chargeable and has a replaceable
cartridge which provides 60 or 90 treatments (depending on the version you
purchase). You zap your zit 2-3 times over a 24-hour period…and bingo, you wipe
out your spot – it’s that easy!
Feedback from users suggests that Zeno is definitely at its most effective
when used at an early stage during the lifecycle of a spot – when you first feel
the sensation of it coming up.
You'd
think the Zeno would be a
“must
have”
item, and in many ways it is – clinical evidence that proves it works, small and cool enough for guys and girls to carry
around in pants or purse ready to zap a spot the minute it starts, and
without all the messiness and time necessary with of other methods of acne
control. It’s also entirely safe
for use on skins of color. But hold on…
Zeno
won’t stop the acne starting, although it can and does minimize the eruption of spots if
they're caught early enough. Also, although I’ve come across some
rave reviews
by cystic acne sufferers, Zeno is really only designed to be effective with mild
to moderate acne, so if you’re seriously affected by cystic or severe acne, you
might want to think carefully before shelling out on a relatively expensive item
like Zeno….
Cost:
$150 for the 60-shot version, $190 for the 90 treatment-version.
